I agree he should be a top ten 10, but to say that Dean Smith and John Wooden could not have done that, how do you know? Did they attempt to do that? It's your personal opinion of course, but we have no facts to substantiate that statement. Also, how do you know that he did more to change his sport than all the others combined? Do you know all the history of baseball, football, basketball and hockey from their origins and review what contributions each coach made to his respective sport? I'm not downplaying what Brooks did, as he certainly was a great coach, but you probably went a TAD bit overboard with the rest of your comments.

Herb Brooks not in the top 10? who else could have taken college kids against profesional teams and beaten them.John Wooden? No Dean Smith? No
There is not another coach of professional or college sports that could have done what Herb Brooks did, then he went to the NHL and won 100 games faster than any other coach. and came back 22 years after his gold medal performance in 1980 to lead a team of professionals to a second place finish. This man did more to change his sport than all others combined
