Some fans and the Vikings front office feel that Brett Favre is the missing piece that could finally lead the Vikings to the Super Bowl again. So, yes, some Viking fans (that can leave behind their dislike for Favre) and the Vikings front office care what Favre does. The national media also cares because Favre is considered a compelling sports figure. If he does play for the Vikings, it instantly gives the Vikings a lot more national exposure.

I'm sure some people do. Those that are huge fans of his and those that are Minnesota Vikings fans, where he could possibly end up playing.
