We had luck on a cross-country flight between LAX and MIA. We asked one of the flight attendants for some help. Tongue-in-cheek, of course. We didn't really expect her to take it seriously.
She actually took the question to the cockpit. The co-pilot was sympathetic and got regular score updates on an NFL division championship game. After he got the updates over the radio, they would make an announcement over the PA system. More than a few people on that flight were happy.
Plus, it got everyone to shut off their phones. Several people were hiding their phones, getting updates on their Blackberries or listening to a buddy with the game on speakerphone.

Can I watch Stanley Cup game live on NBC on Lufthansa flight from U.S. to Germany? We'll still be flying in U.S. during all of the game.
I'm a big Red Wings fan and don't want to miss a possible Stanley Cup final game Sat. June 6th. Lufthansa flights have TV service in seats but not sure if they offer NBC live (not taped) since Stanley Cup finals are on NBC. Our flight leaves at game time 6 pm MDT and we will be flying in U.S. during most or all of the game. My neighbor was on another airline last week and saw a hockey game live on her flight so wondering if I will be able to do the same on Lufthansa flight (From U.S. to Frankfurt, Germany). If not live TV, what about radio? Anybody know what station broadcasts NHL games picked up on Lufthansa flights? Do they have any control over this on the airplane or is it always set according to airline guidelines, etc? Thanks for any help since I can't find any info on this.

You can try contacting the airlines customer service...it's an odd question, but probably not the first time it's been asked. We had luck on a cross-country flight between LAX and MIA.
