Can anyone suggest an introductory book for baseball sabermetrics? I suppose something by Bill James...

If you can find a copy of The Baseball Abstract by Bill James, that would be the best place to start. The problem is that his final edition was written in the late 1980's, but I am sure you could find a used copy on ebay or perhaps Amazon.com.
