That's a tough one, and I think a lot of hockey experts/analysts go back and forth over it. The surprising thing it that they're both so young and, as long as neither gets severely inured, have a lot of time to develop and improve.
It also depends what you mean by "better." If you look at their regular season stats from last year, Ovie was first in goals scored and second in points, while Crosby was 20th and 3rd respectively. That's because Crosby was second in assists and Ovie was tenth. Some would say that Crosby's higher assist ranking means that he's more of a "team player" and better playmaker, since he's willing to set up his teammates and not always take the shot. It also became clear during the playoffs that Crosby can step up and be a great leader when need be.
However, in terms of passion, there's no comparison in my opinion. Although some may disagree, I think Ovie is a gas to watch - he always gives it his all and I find him more fun to watch both on the ice and off.
Only time will tell who has the drive, ability and perseverance to step ahead of the other and become the "better player" overall.
