I've just read through the entire guide note and clicked through to all of the citations. Both the Fast Facts and Beliefs section quote from Scientology Today, The Village Voice and The Los Angeles Times.
All of the allegations levied against the Church of Scientology by other publications have been specifically attributed to those publications. Nowhere in this Guide Note does Mahalo itself disparage Scientology. His argument may be that we're biased because we included a "controversy" section on the page whereas we don't for our page on Mormonism.
I would argue that, if anything, we would add a controversy section to the Mormonism page before removing the similar section from Scientology. Most Americans think of those controversies as among their primary understandings of the religion and it would be culturally inaccurate to leave out that section, as it plays such an important role in the way modern Americans view Scientology.
I'm interested in seeing what others think and we'll of course change the Guide Note immediately if I'm mistaken and there are un-sourced or improperly cited statements in the text.

Are there any errors on this Scientology page? http://www.mahalo.com/Scientology
@BudGallant told me on Twitter there were errors on this page and that Church of Scientology would take action against us.
1. Does anyone see any errors?
2. Does anyone think there is bias on that page?

Yes, there is some bias, because there is no link in that page that points towards http://www.mahalo.com/Anonymous, but in the anonymous page there is a link that points towards the scientology page.

I'd suggest "religion" in the description of scientology be changed to "cult".

1) In an e-mail to us, Bud referenced that we link to Xenu.net which is a site critical of Scientology. It was in the Top 7, and as it is a bit inflammatory in its condemnation of the religion, I've moved the site down the "Criticism" section and replaced it with an article.
2) Bud was concerned about the following Fast Fact: "Regarded as a "dangerous cult" in France" -- The citation on this statement leads to a BBC News article (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/low/europe/452734.stm) which states the following: "The trial, in the southern city of Marseille, has led to renewed calls for the banning of Scientology in France, which officially regards it as a dangerous cult rather than a religion." The citation supports us listing that as a Fast Fact. In fairness, the article we reference was written in 1999, and could easily be considered out of date. To be safe, I've removed that Fast Fact.
3) Bud's other complaint was that we write about "space aliens" in the Fast Facts. What he is specifically referring to is the following quote: "News organizations have reported that Scientologists believe Xenu is an alien ruler who brought aliens to Earth 75 million years ago." -- This statement cites an article from the Village Voice (http://www.villagevoice.com/2008-06-24/news/Scientologys-Crushing-Defeat/), which has the following quote: "...high-level Scientologists are taught that each human contains the souls of alien creatures banished to Earth 75 million years ago by a galactic overlord named Xenu." We are completely justified in saying that news organizations have reported that information. Since we only site the one article, I will change the first part of this sentence to "The Village Voice" to make it perfectly clear that that is where our information came from.
After spending quite a bit of time reviewing this page, I really don't think it could be considered biased or libelous, as Bud has claimed. It's true that we have a "Criticism" section on this page and not on some other religion pages. I think it would be fair to add a similar section to the Mormonism page, as that religion's alleged connection to polygamy has also been quite controversial. Since Scientology is discussed so frequently in America, and often written about with skepticism, I don't think it would be right to remove the "Criticism" section.
The only other point I wanted to make is that we're not jumping through hoops just for Bud. We jump through hoops for everyone! That's the Mahalo spirit and it shows our dedication to making our product the most trustworthy resource out there.
