South Korean gets driver license on 960th try. How many tries did it take you?

A South Korean woman has finally gotten her drivers license after what has to be a record 960 attempts. She passed the driving portion of the test on her 10th try, the written portion of the exam is what took 960 attempts. She took the written test almost daily for the last five years, how that for determination.

How many tries did it take you to get your drivers license? I have to confess, it took me three tries.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Just once :P But I think I squeeked by because I took my test on a 95+ degree day and the test guy was just diein' and I had no air conditioning in my car. Pretty sure he never wanted to see me again so he just passed me! It's not like I'm a terrible driver, I just did really terrible on the straight back part -shrug-.

I got mine on my first try. USA driver's licenses are much too easy.

Before I could get my license I had to take a driver's ed course (this was long ago in NYC). The cheapest and most convenient one I found at the time was a class offered in Spanish. I don't speak Spanish but I went to the course and was thus eligible for my license. The test itself, in English, was not challenging.

That would be bad enough, but in the 40 or so years since I have not been obliged to retake any tests or have any refreshers in changed laws.

With so many people killed or maimed every year you would think that there would be strict licensing laws. No such luck, the politicians make it easy for any voter who wants one to get a license.
