Sources of omega 3 besides Salmon?

I want to get my omega 3 but Salmon can get boring after a while. What other fish are good sources of omega 3, and are there any other natural sources of Omega 3 besides fish?

I eat ground flaxseed to get the omega three without the fishiness. I have also heard you can eat "krill" oil

Like you already know, the best source for increasing your intake of Omega 3 is to eat fish. Fish contains healthy polyunsaturated fats which is Omega 3. However there is a problem with eating tons of fish. The American Heart Association suggests that we increase our intake of fish so that we can get the Omega 3 we need, but the FDA at the same time cautions us on eating too much fish. Fish is often contaminated with toxins such as Mercury and the FDA suggests that we don’t eat a lot of fish. So it’s a no win situation with eating fish.

The only really safe way to get plenty of Omega 3 fats in your body is to take high quality fish oil supplements. If the supplements are of high quality, you won’t have to worry about mercury contamination and other toxins. However, you have to be very careful when choosing the fish oil supplements. Not all supplements are high quality.

So if you are tired of eating salmon and since you are not supposed to be eating all that fish anyway, you might try some quality fish oil supplements. Good luck! :-)

Actually the AHA recommends most fish, just not the few which tend to accumulate mercury.
