What's Sonia Sotomayor's view on abortion?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

That being said, she is an appointee of a Democrat President. The honest reality is that in light of her Left-leaning support, she is most likely in favor of Pro-Choice policies.
HOWEVER...that's not the end of the story. While serving on the bench, she has largely been known as a centrist on most policies - not a SUPER DUPER Liberal! She's more of a moderate and balanced judge, according to her record. And I believe that was part of Obama's goal, he wanted someone who could represent the middle-leaners of both parties.
So I would assume that she's "Pro-Choice Lite".

M$In 2001, she denied a claim brought forth by an abortion rights group challenging a Bush policy that did not permit foreign organizations, who were receiving foreign aid, to perform or support abortions in the United States. This resulted in the above-mentioned abortion rights group to claim, "The Supreme Court has made it clear that the government is free to favor the anti-abortion position over the pro-choice position."
Another case was centered around the definition of the word "refugee," which can include victims of coercive family-planning practices. The Second Circuit ruled that this definition does not extend to unmarried partners of women forced to have an abortion.

As an afterthought, regarding the effect she'll have on the court: I think she will bring a more moderate voice...but if it came down to votes, I am sure she will vote Pro Choice. I'd be very surprised if she didn't.
