What are these icons and how do I get rid of them? Firefox/Adobe reader
I have a pdf opened in firefox... and this is the first I've ever seen of them. I'm too OCD for them to be there. I'd like to just drag them onto another toolbar but I can't.

On mine I right click on the Grey area of the tool bar and click "hide toolbar"
But when you right click on it, it should also have names of icons with little check marks beside them..If you click those they should remove the icons. But I don't have the exact same Icons that you have so I don't know for sure if you can remove the icons but you should be able to remove the toolbar to hide it so it doesn't bug you.

I am pretty sure that these tool buttons are specific to Adobe Reader and you will have to open it outside of your browser and then turn off those specific buttons.
The following is from the Adobe 9 help page:
Show or hide individual tools
Acrobat includes more tools and more toolbars than the set that appears by default. You can customize the toolbars so that the tools you use most often appear in the toolbar area.
Do any of the following:
* Right-click the toolbar, and select a tool that you want to display or deselect a tool that is already displayed if you want to hide it.
* Right-click any toolbar and choose More Tools. Then select individual tools and toolbars that you want to display, and deselect those that you want to hide.
Note: A selected tool appears in the toolbar area only if its toolbar is also selected in the More Tools dialog box.
Hope this helps

Tried that as per my response to the last answer. Doesn't seem to be in the technical "tool bar"-- it seems to be separate from it, but located in the same spot we find the "tool bar." Thanks though.
@thechadwick,
I am sorry if I am not understanding, but did you try it from in Adobe Reader only, or did you just try this in your browser window? I don't think you will be able to disable them in the browser. Save the PDF you are view or open one you have saved on your computer and see if those same buttons show up in the Adobe Reader when view outside the browser window and then disable them from there.
If you did this already I apologize for misunderstanding.

Ah ha! Now it doesn't happen when I open adobe reader... It happens when I have a different document open in firefox html format. Sigh...
What do the icons do when you hover over them or click on them? They appear to be for annotation of some sort, and might be as part of another application that you have installed, such as Microsoft OneNote or something that does something similar.
If they are in fact part of another program, they may have to be turned off via that application's settings and preferences.

They are add annotation, collapse annotations, highlight text, unhighlight text in that order. Those names appear when I hover over them.
