Darth_Continent,
Google has a new one in Gmail that works for free with your Gmail account. It's not the highest quality, and ooVoo may be a little bit higher quality. What's great about Gmail, ooVoo, and VSee is that you don't have to purchase expensive hardare. They are all about equal, but some may have better quality. Sometimes services like Google may be easily accessible if you use Gmail already, but if you want to try the others, they might be interesting as well. For one to one conversations Gmail Video Chat works well. For multiple chat, you may like a service like ooVoo or VSee. For strict video messages I highly recommend a service like Tokbox, because there are no downloads. If you want to chat while video messaging you may want to try Meebo or Imo.im and they are chat aggregators that work with known instant messengers.
Here's a list of the aforementioned recommendations:
Gmail Video Chat
http://mail.google.com/videochat
Works with GTalk and is easy to use for one to one chats and videos.
Tokbox
http://www.tokbox.com
It's simple, free, and easy to use. Provides a video messaging. Basic quality in flash, nothing to download.
ooVoo
http://www.oovoo.com
ooVoo is a download chat program for video chat. You can talk with up to 6 people. Provides a high quality.
VSee
http://www.vsee.com
Similar to ooVoo, and it's good because you can talk with up to 8 people. Provides high quality.
Meebo
http://www.meebo.com
Works with other chat programs and uses Tokbox. Just using Meebo chat with Tokbox.
Imo IM
http://imo.im
Simple and works with other chat programs. A small screen, and it's basic quality.
Hope this answers your question, Todd! My guess you might like something like GTalk Video Chat or Tokbox. Give them both a try and you'll see.
Others that are interesting, and you might want to look into them.

Skype (http://skype.com/allfeatures/videocall/) might provide everything you need (and more), and it's cross platform (Windows, Mac, and Linux).
If you're using a Mac, iChat is very easy to use (and relatively powerful). It allows you to simultaneously videoconference with multiple people, and can connect with AIM, MobileMe, Jabber, and Google Talk accounts.

iChat (assuming you have a Mac-and all new macs come with a built-in webcam)
1) It's FREE (comes installed on all Macs)
2) You can video conference all your friends with aim screen names (also free) regardless of whether they have a mac or not
3) You can video conference with multiple friends
4) You can even use fun visual effects while conferencing!
5) It's easy to use and works every really well!
-If you don't have a Mac, Skype or Aim work well and are free. But seriously, get a Mac :P

From my personal experience, they used to be a very high end video conferencing equipment company.
But, after the emergence of the companies and software above, they have started to release more affordable options that still use quite high quality equipment (though not always the most intuitive software).
In short, if a nice $100-$200 dollar webcam and Skype isn't quite enough, I would take a look at Polycom.

No all macs come with a built-in webcam. It's a common mistake, but Mac Mini's and the Mac Pro both don't have a built-in camera. Not your fault though, advertising is a bit deceiving.

Thanks for clarifying, you're absolutely right.
But the LARGE MAJORITY of Macs purchased are their laptops and iMacs - all with webcams.
