Problems with AIM SMS

I've been having a problem sending texts to a phone though AIM SMS. I get the error about 15 seconds later: "(9:02:00 AM) Unable to send message: Not logged in" while I am clearly logged in.

I know that the other person's phone isn't off or something because they can still send to me.

I use AIM out of pidgin and I updated pidgin, logged in, logged out several times, and I tried AIM Express to see if it's a problem with pidgin. Other people seem to be having this problem too, so is the server for SMS down? (AIM still works for me but just not for SMS)

Idea, If AIM tags SMS with a short code the carier may reject it if they don't support a short code system or intergration. Goolge Voice & Jott SMS messages are also often rejected by cariers because of this.

Yeah, it's worked for about 4 months now, but suddenly one day it doesn't. I didn't do anything special, it just happened. I haven't had any problems until randomly nearly a week ago.
