How can I access the ringtones folder on the SPH-m800?

I like the original Sprint Instinct ringtones, and I want to put them on my new Palm Pre.

You can check the Manual, I found it located right here for you.

Samsung SPH-m800 Manual

The portion on how to access your downloaded content begins on page 99.

However, if the original ringtones are what you want there probably isn't any way to download them, but perhaps somebody will chime in with a trick.

Thanks Jeff, I'm after the original ringtones. They seem to be buried deep in the phone. I wonder if they are available elsewhere?

JoelH, my HTC Touch Diamond allows you to record your own ringtone, so I'm sure your Pre does as well. Could you play the ringtone on your Instinct from the ringtones menu while recording it onto your Pre? I've done that before, so it's worth a shot.

Hi jkepler, I don't think the Pre has any recording capability what so ever. I cannot even record a voice memo.

Wow, no kidding. I did find a comment on a forum (here: http://www.everythingpre.com/forum/palm-pre/can-it-voice-record-21052.html) predicting that a third party app will allow it once the SDK comes out. If you can't get the actual files, that might be the only way to go. Sorry I/we don't have better answers for you!

You should be able to use the open source program BitPIM http://www.bitpim.org/ to access the file system on the SPH-m800 and find the ring tones on there.

I have BitPim 1.0.6 on my computer but it does not support the SPH-m800. I looked at your HowardsForums link and saw that someone on the Telius network got it to work on their phone, but honestly, that is beyond my capabilities.

Did you try the Sprint Media Manager? http://www.nextel.com/en/software_downloads/phones/samsung_instinct.shtml

Hi onek, I have Sprint Media Manager on my computer, but it only allows me to transfer music and picture files to the phone. (not from) and it doesn't transfer any ring tones.
