Gas will most likely continue to increase as demand increases. Demand always rises closer to the summertime travel season.
It will come down to a choice, staycation or cut back on activities at a travel-to location.
There are already many travel bargains available for people. MSN had an article about the drop in cruise prices. Air fares have also dropped. I think those that choose to travel somewhere will have many options available, not just driving.

I would opt for a real vacation this summer, leave the "staycation" for when it really does go sky high again.

We'll most likely do a staycation, because we only just did a driving vacation this fall. There are all kinds of places nearby that we've never been to, but it seems every visitor to our area goes to. It will be fun to play a tourist!

prices always rise during the summer travel season. They will not raise like they did in 2008. they should rise to $1.00 a litre or about $4.00 a gallon. This is based on my experience in the construction industry and watching fuel prices move up every year in the spring.

I believe it will raise a bit, like it does every year for summer, but not by much. Gas is priced with a supply and demand cost setup, with everyone stashing money and losing their jobs, it is likely to stay low. I would opt for a real vacation this summer, leave the "staycation" for when it really does go sky high again.

I think it will go up, but not by a lot. I hope that alternative energy sources, including the "alternative" of using our own oil, continues to be pursued. We'll most likely do a staycation, because we only just did a driving vacation this fall. There are all kinds of places nearby that we've never been to, but it seems every visitor to our area goes to. It will be fun to play a tourist!

The oil price is determined by global demand and supply, and demand has fallen back a lot due to the worldwide economic recession. The only way prices are likely to rise a lot is if there was a Middle East crisis. (Much more of a crisis than we have at the moment!)
