Why is twitter so popular?

Why is it that so many people find this so interesting?

I think it's because it's easy. It has an insanely low barrier to entry. People are social creatures and have short attention spans. In other words people like things that are easy, quick and focuses on people.

Just my 2 cents. Maybe only 1.5 in the current market!
