Why does Sarah Palin need a legal defense fund? Did she do something wrong? Or just planning too?

Sarah Palin owes over 500 thousand dollars in legal bills as she fights a series of ethics complaints filed by Democratic Operatives working in Alaska. The bills are expected to go much higher.The money raised will be given to Thomas Van Flein, Governor Palin's private attorney.
The fund is created by Mr. Clayton Paslay, a business man.
