I have always used my grandparents as a role model on how to love. My grandfather was in the military and was separated from my grandmother for long stretches through more than one war but they managed to raise 9 well balanced children and up until the day my grandfather died he looked at my grandmother as if she was the 20 yr old he married. He was an advocate for respecting women, never raising his voice unnecessarily, NEVER raising a hand to a woman and never believed doing something for the woman you loved demeaned your manhood somehow. I never once saw my grandparents have a serious all out scream match like you see between couples today, only brief tiffs that were over within a day or two. My mom says it was the same when she was growing up.

They never seriously fought and for 60 years always kept the light of love in their eyes. They even went on a trip every year to Hawaii to celebrate their first date (they met in Hawaii during WW2). So that level of respect and love is what I have based all my relationships on and now I know it is not as elusive as it use to seem, you just have to be willing to wait for it to happen :)

That would depend on your definition of love. You could go the Mystery route:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mystery_%28pickup_artist%29
or the Moulin Rouge route:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0203009/
or many steps in between.

Personally, I value dedication, love, and romance, so I'd probably associate greatly with Moulin Rouge.
