Which is better/worse? A dreamer who can't work hard? Or a hard worker who can't dream?

Of the two, at least the hard worker will be able to make a living. If you're a dreamer, ie. highly creative, and can work (or network) hard, you have the possibility of rising above someone who has little imagination. But without that work ethic, you'll be stuck with great ideas that no one will listen to.
