What's the best way to track down a package which was supposedly delivered? The USPS is no help.
I ordered a package last week that, according to the USPS website, was "delivered." Someone has it, I sure as hell don't. I've called numerous 800 numbers but was unable to speak to an actual human. Even talked to the mail carrier for my neighborhood to no avail.
How can I find it? What do I do if it's actually lost? Can I recoup the money somehow?

If USPS claims it was delivered, contact where ever you bought the item. Let them know it was a Non-Received.
Different companies have different ways of dealing with the * lost in the mail * issue. They might send out a replacement, they might send a refund, they might say their records say you received it, in which case you just have to argue untill they send out a replacement.
So definitly contact the company you ordered it from before you try anything else.
