What would you call the 00's generation? Also, what would you call the 90's, 80's, 70's, 60's, 50's and 40's?

I went to high school in the 80's, so I might be called a GenX.  What would the other Gen's be?

ADDITION:  What do you think the 2010's, 2020's and 2030's will be?

Generation Z refers to those born in 2001 and beyond.

Generation Y refers to those born between 1982 and 2000. Generation Y is also known as the "Millennials"

Generation X were born between 1961 and 1981.

Those born between 1951 and 1961 are the Baby Boomers.

A generation isn't a single decade ... it's about two decades (long enough for that generation to start having kids).

Could you supply some reference material or how did you come up with this information?

I'm in marketing so I'm just very familiar with these terms. The Wikipedia articles referenced in the other answer are a good source, though.

Interesting question! I bet that they will initially be something standard, like Generation ZZ or Generation Zero, but will retroactively be referred to as something else. I'd anticipate future generations will be completely digital from birth onwards, and may have social problems as a result that will ultimately lead to their characterization by earlier generations as "Generation On" or "The Dig Kids."

Here you can find a list of generations:

Generation differentiation has to do with technology differences. For instances, the main difference between generation X and Y, at least to my knowledge is the marketing and the advent of mobile text messaging which the Generation Y is accustomed to. For instance, those born in Generation Y were more likely to have mobile phones by the age of 18, whereas generation X was less likely to have one in their teenage years.
