My favorite childhood memory is from spending time with my grandfather. He built a lake, stocked it with bass, bream, and catfish and many days he'd just sit by the lake. I'd sit with him, fish a bit, listen to him talk about life when he was a boy and about my dad. He'd tell me what I was doing wrong fishing wise and I'd tell him about things in my life. He taught me to work my line around when it was stuck so I didnt lose my gear. He taught me to skip rocks too which I've now passed on to my children and grandchildren as a favorite thing to do at the lake.
I sure miss my grandparents and my father but my fond memories of them ensourage me to make new memories for my children and grandchildren to cherish.
