You don't really convert to atheims, so much as gain a realization.
Conversion is only really applicable, in the theological sense, when talking about changing religious affiliation. For example "I was Jewish, but I converted to christianity". Atheists do not convert, just reach a point where they either do not believe in a deity, or can get to a point where they can say that no god exisits.
Atheists are just atheist. Most might say "I am a former memeber of X religion" and that's about it.
As far as you can really go is to say it's a philosophical realization.
