I can't speak for myself, but I know someone from Minneapolis who raves about it. The people are friendly, there is very low crime, and despite the weather, people are very comfortable there.

CNN Money conducts a study every year on the 100 best places to live in the country. Plymouth, MN (which is a suburb of Minneapolis) was rated the #1 city in the country to live in.
