There is resemblance of sacerdotal institutions, some religious rites like marriage and the burial of the death, the practice of human sacrifices and even cannibalism; traces which are discernible in Mongol races by a striking conformity of social usages and manners.

Still, the resemblance in one case may be referred as an accident in the other. There are certain arbitrary peculiarities, which, when found in different nations, reasonably suggest the idea of some previous communication between them.

Among the similar customs, cultures and belief between Aztecs and Mongols they were:

with Death:
* The habit of burning the death.
* Collecting the ashes in a vase.
* Depositing a single article (like a precious stone) along with them.
* Burying them under pyramidal mounds.
* The immolation of wives and servants at the funeral.

with Astronomy:
* Method of chronological system by distributing the years into cycles.
* Reckoning by means of periodical series instead of numbers.
* Use of both Hieroglyphics by the Aztecs and Zodiacal signs by Eastern Asiatic for the sign of the days.
* The symbols in the Mongolian calendar came from animals. 4 of the 12 are the same as the Aztecs, 3 others are as nearly the same as the different species of animals in the two hemispheres would allow.

with Religion:
* The institution of numerous priesthood, with the practices of confession and penance.

Until they converted to Islam, the Mongols were polytheistic as were the Aztecs.
