It depends on what your interests or hobbies are. Did know there are more than 750 nonprofits in Indianapolis alone? And each one has volunteer opportunities, plus other organizations, as well. A few of my favorite are:

Indianapolis Animal Care and Control

Humane Society of Indianapolis (or Hamilton County, Johnson County, etc)

Wheeler Mission (homeless)

Indianapolis Colts (yes, you can even volunteer at Colts games!)

RibFest, JazzFest, etc.

Veterans Affairs, American Legion

Hospitals

To express your interest in volunteering, just look at the website and give them a call and offer your time. People love volunteers! If there is a large event coming to town that you are interested in helping with, don't hesitate to call (pet expos, baby expos, motorcross, etc). As an event planner, we are always looking for help - and it's a great resume builder!
