Ah yes, save one or save many... In this case, my own child or strangers. My heart would override my head in this one and save my child. Yes, because those on the train are faceless compared to my child who's death would haunt me until I died of grief. I would grieve for those that perished on the train there is no doubt but my child is mine.

Values conflict: Derail the train or crush your son or daughter?
This is a question I had in school years ago when studying values conflicts. Let say its take your son or daughter to work day.. And Your son or daughter escapes you and gets caught in the switch of the railroad track, and there is no way to get to the tracks to free him or her.. You have a choice to push the button to align the switch to keep the train from derailing.. but it hits your son or daughter.. or to align the switch to derail the train, and free your son or daughter.. Which would you choose and/or why? ..
