I think that there were reasons to create a celibacy rule in the church. But I also think that the church needs to look at some old ideologies and see if they still reflect a need in todays society. Laws within government change over time to reflect the needs of the people, why not rules within the church? (as long as these changes don't interfere directly with the dogma).
If I were Catholic, I think he'd distract me at mass with his cute smile!
