No. No definitive proof.

There's lots and lots of evidence--some anecdotal, some more concrete. But when all of it is added up, none of it definitively says, "Yes, ghosts undeniably exist".

But then again, there are many things we can't "prove" that a lot of people believe in. God, for one. Bigfoot. The second Kennedy assassin. You get the idea. Just because we can't point to solid proof, doesn't mean it isn't real.

The "Brown Lady of Raynham Hall", photo circa 1936

WWI Mechanic Freddy Jackson shows up for a group photo...a day after his death. Photo circa 1919. Squadron members instantly recognize his face, even though his funeral was held earlier that day.

Mrs. Mabel Chinnery snapped a shot of her husband waiting in a parked car while she visited her mother's grave site. The man was SUPPOSED to be in the car alone. Does anyone else see the man with glasses in the back seat? Photos confirmed not a double exposure or hoax by experts. Photo circa 1959.

"The Ghost of Boothill Cemetery". This is actually a recent picture (1990s?) taken by an aspiring actor who wanted to take b&w shots of his friend in Old West period costume out at Boothill Cemetery. They were alone for the shot, but look who appears in the cemetery behind him! Coming out of the ground? The intriguing part is the lack of shadow cast by the ghostly figure.

"Lord Combermere Ghost". This picture was taken in 1891.

"S.S. Watertown Ghost Faces". In 1924 two men cleaning the cargo tank of the oil tanker ship died after being overcome from fumes. The two men were "buried at sea" the next day on December 4. But for the rest of the voyage all of the crew members (including the Captain) kept seeing their faces appearing in the waves of the ocean every day. It was so creepy that when the boat docked the captain went out and bought a camera. He waited until the faces appeared in the ocean again once the ship set off, and then snapped 6 photos, then locked his camera in his cabin. This is one of the six, where the two men's faces are very visible. The faces only stopped appearing after the crew on the ship was changed.

So I guess the lesson from all of these photos (and more, see my source below for extra interesting photos and stories) is that you have to decide for yourself what you believe, because none of it amounts to "proof", but you have to admit it's pretty convincing. I, for one, believe.

All the ghost hunters and paranormal people will argue the fact and say YES.

I believe that yes there is life after death,BUT....I do not think they are malicious entities. I believe there are ghosts around us that think they are still here living their routines.
I think alot of the pics shown are just fabricated by people trying to make a buck. So,I do not think that there is definitive proof of ghosts.

I believe.

Do I believe because of photographic proof, such as the incredible photos gno posted or those in the following article from March 2009?

http://blogs.abcnews.com/worldview/2009/03/is-this-proof-t.html

Experts will always line up on both sides of the issue - one will say no, the photo hasn't been manipulated and another will look at the same photo and say that it has been manipulated. There will always be skeptics and no amount of proof will ever convince them unless it happens to them.

I believe because I have felt my grandmother's hand in mine 3 years after her death. I believe because I have lived in a haunted former brothel and heard an infant crying. I believe because I saw my grandfather standing on the street smiling at me in a town 40 miles away from "home" - and my children asked me why Grampa Audie was there - 2 years after his death.

I could list many other reasons why I believe. Does this qualify as undeniable proof? For me, yes. Will it be enough proof for someone else to believe?

Do YOU believe?

Seeing something and deciding it's a ghost doesn't make it one. Feelings are also defined by our imaginations. The same thing you feel somewhere doesn't mean the same thing to me if I feel it.

If ghosts were real everyone could see them and interact with them. Just like air. You don't see it but you know it's real because you can interact with it and prove it exists.

The James Randi Foundation offers a reward of $1,000,000 to anyone who can prove the existence of paranormal activity.
http://www.randi.org/site/index.php/1m-challenge.html

The reward has not been claimed, even by these modern-day photographers.

Now, if they were true, and you had the proof, wouldn't YOU claim the prize??? So I say there is no 'proof'

I think the best site to go to in this case is http://www.skeptic.com/
- the the baloney detection kit video is cool!
