It seems like most people forget about the money at some point even if that's what brought them here in the first place (because they're staying for the fun questions), but it does raise the stakes on getting the best answer when there's some money involved.

So I would say it matters more whether the question is interesting than whether or not there's money, but it's not as if paying questions are less fun just because there's money involved
