Good question. First, I thought I'd go with "Nobody owns life, but anyone who can pick up a frying pan owns death." Then I thought I'd go with "I am getting so far out one day I won't come back at all." However, I then came upon this little gem:

"A cat's rage is beautiful, burning with pure cat flame, all its hair standing up and crackling blue sparks, eyes blazing and sputtering."

So I began to consider the fact that the world, like a cat's rage, is beautiful in all of its awfulness. The world is feral and tame, volcanic and tranquil, dirty and pure, full of joy but full of grief, complicated and simple, secretive but obvious, positive and negative, masterful and weak, and full of danger despite its ability to provide comfort. It will scratch you and bite you, and purr at you a moment later. It will discourage you, but it will make you laugh with complete abandon.

Like a cat, the world will eat your lunch the moment you're not paying attention. It will poo in your sandbox and kick the grains into your face. It will stun you into silence so someone can ask if a cat's got your tongue. The world's people will fight like cats and dogs; they'll play cat and mouse; they'll occasionally grin like a Cheshire and they'll let the cat out of the bag. Our curiosity might kill us but our own kindness may very well save us.

The world's images will haunt you like a starving stray kitten and intrigue you like a mysterious panther. It's a place with the power and pride of a lion as well as the racing speed of a cheetah. Sometimes the world will love you; sometimes it seems to bring you the worst possible luck. It's a place that will terrorize you with hurricanes, floods and tornadoes. It will also offer nourishment, protection, safety and affection.
