It's impossible to answer the question definitively, since there are many politicians at all levels all over the world. But no prominent female politician has ever been booted for mistreating her husband. Female politicians are extremely rare in sex scandals, and domestic violence would surely be treated as a sex scandal. (The most prominent female sex scandal was a woman in Taiwan back in 2002, and that's not terribly prominent.)

She was afraid a divorce would look bad to the voters. Unfortunately there is no pleasing some people - not only did she get three years in prison but her career took a hit as well.
That was from her second trial. She wasn't punished as a result of her first trial, but the entire jury was hung, and they had no chance to plea bargain.

Has a female politician ever been disqualified, forced to resign, or lost an election because she hit her husband?
I am mainly interested in simple, unarmed hitting by a woman smaller than her husband, sufficient to constitute domestic violence but not major. But, any other examples would be of interest too.

Ruthann Aron of Maryland tried to hire a hit man to do a hit on her husband. I suppose that's not precisely the type of hit you meant, but remember me if nobody finds one. She was afraid a divorce would look bad to the voters. Unfortunately there is no pleasing some people - not only did she get three years in prison but her career took a hit as well.

An interesting story, and shows they aren't all angels. But hiring a hit man isn't quite the type of domestic violence I'm actually trying to assess. Still, it is notable that she is Republican.
