Congratulations! You've found one of the many inconsistencies in the claims of these so-called "ghost hunters." There is no logical reason why centuries-dead Central Europeans would speak and understand modern English (or any other languages, for that matter), but the show's audience expects ghosts to speak their language, and the producers are happy to oblige.
