Do you think that everyone is a bit racist deep inside?
answers (4)
definitely... i have tons of black friends but deep down sometimes i think there color for some reason rubs me the wrong way... I know that is a little racist but most black people are the ones always getting in trouble and doing some pretty messed up things. I think however overall i try to see the good in people before i judge them, sometimes it is tough considering there race.

I think that everyone is born with a certain preference, yes.
As a wonderful example, my son within hours of birth preferred to be held by fair eyed fair haired people. As he has aged this tendency has not changed. At just over a year he flirts and grins with blonds in particular and literally ends up in tears when approached by darker skinned/eyed folks.
It's possible that this preference was learned due to myself, my husband and most of his "circle" so to speak being blond and blue eyed, but because it presented so soon after birth I'm more apt to believe its inborn.
Does having a preference for people that appear a certain way make us racist however? Nope.
Via Dictionary.com Racist is the adjective form of racism:
Quote-----------
–noun
1. a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others.
2. a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination.
3. hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.
end quote------------
Many people confuse seeing a difference between the races as being racist. The fact is we are different, and those differences should be embraced not covered up in an attempt at "equality".
Long answer short, deep inside everyone does have a preference for certain types of people whether that be race based or not, however only those that allow that preference to grow into hate and intolerance are racist. So no, not everyone is racist deep down.

Yes, I agree that we're a bit racist deep inside but we're trying to be kind.

I like to think that I hate everyone equally :P Doesn't matter race, color, religion or sexual orientation. If you're a jerk, you're a jerk.
I do think that the majority of people do have some race issues. If not race than some other aspect of the human race. It really bothers me when people approach my car asking for money. I know the economy is bad, but when you see people approaching your car, or harassing you outside a store, or getting mad if you don't have it, when you're just trying to get your kids to the car, it drives me nuts.
