Describe your "perfect day!"

It's spring time here in Texas, the sky is clear, the flowers are blooming and we have maybe a month before it gets hotter than the surface of the sun. That said, we take advantage of it by trying to create the perfect day. Give us some highlights or an entire activity list or just an idea of what a perfect day is/means to you!

I wake up in our lovely beachside condo, no alarm set, fully rested, just in time to watch the sun rise. My kids and husband are with me, but no one says a word.

Everyone goes inside and gets showered and dressed. As I walk through the house, everything is in its place. No one is bickering.

We all go out to eat breakfast on the deck. It's various tropical fresh fruits, perfect breakfast crepes of either Nutella or bacon/cheese (my boys like them), and fresh-squeezed orange juice. I'm drinking Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee.

We all pile into the car and drive to Disneyworld and Epcot Center, where there are no lines for anything. We ride everything we want to, and have a great lunch in a garden spot.

Late afternoon, we head for Seaworld, where we quickly catch a show. Then we head back to the condo, where together we make an interesting, 3-course meal with fresh ingredients. We eat it on the deck on the beach. The kids take off to swim while my husband and I finish off the bottle of wine as the sun sets.

I've actually done all this, but on three separate days. Breakfast and dinner were from a vacation to Nassau; the Disneyworld/Seaworld thing was from another vacation--but we seriously did go from ride to ride without waiting once.

And we regularly do the 3-course gourmet meals on our deck, but it's not a beach view. We watch the kids catching fireflies instead of waves.

my perfect day is sleeping in a little bit till like 10 am. Waking up and going for a nice late breakfast. I love nature so after breakfast going for a walk in the local state park or some of the family land is always nice. Hiking is a bit of a workout and a nice time. haveing a picnic lunch is always nice while on the hike. If it's warm enough a nice late afternoon swim and then a cook out for dinner. To finish the day, a night of star gazing is the best thing ever.

Enjoy your nice weather!!

My perfect day would be getting the grown people I work with to do the job they're being paid to do without backtalk and the phone not ringing until I'm done with an editing project.

If I weren't at work, my perfect day would be on a nice island with a nice gentle breeze, some ice cold dark rum & Coke, and a beautiful companion to share it with...followed by some nice Italian food for dinner...we'll keep the rest "G" rated... :)

My perfect day would be like this.

- I wake up to my baby boy looking at me smiling.
- I turn and see my wife with a tray, bringing me breakfast in bed.
- I get dressed quickly and go to the bus stop and only wait 30 seconds. Perfect timing!
- I get to work 15 minutes earlier and have time for a nice tall hot cup of coffee.
- I leave work a bit early.
- I get home and dinner is served.
- We watch a movie with my wife and son.
- My wife falls asleep, so we turn off that crappy chick-flick and play some Gears of War 2 with my boy.

Har har! My best day ever!

I wake up at around 9:00AM. There's a fat, happy, black & white cat next to me purring and a beautiful girl hugging me. I open the laptop and read the news, and think of all of the duties I have to tackle during the day. But instead, I put on some organic coffee and lie on the couch. "I'm not coming in today," I say by IM.

It starts raining and I begin read a Wharton novel. The dog wants to go out, so we take a small walk and play tug-of-war in the rain. I realize the Blackberry isn't getting emails, but instead of freaking out, I just put it on silent.

I eat some Honey Bunches of Oats and inadvertently make my friends jealous because I'm watching Monty Python and they're doing code.

The thought of checking my portfolio doesn't even cross my mind.

The Pharaoh Hound breeder writes back - apparently the THREE people that were in line to get the dog all disappeared, and he is ours if we are willing to pick him up (which we are).

My brother lets me know that he is excited about coming to see me for his birthday. I make plans to get him a silly cake, or maybe bake it.

I make an awesome turkey sandwich and randomly make my own remoulade sauce. I screw around with the camcorder and film my sandwich conquest with some goofy sunglasses, having visions of ridiculous Youtube videos.

Then I get three notifications from Mahalo, saying I earned $10, $15, and $15 for best answers.

My wife calls and says she's making taco salads for dinner, which rocks!

I make it through the entire day without being "down" about anything.

My perfect day was today, I got to go around bargain hunting and scavenging in thrift stores all day, and hanging out with my mom. We went for ice cream, and now I'm home again with my hubby about to have dinner.

My perfect day would be:
-Sleep in a little, till about 9 or 10am
-Take my time getting ready for my day
-Have a nice light breakfast
-head out to the beach (Ala Moana Beach preferred because it's nearby) and spend the day with my close family and friends just lazing around, swimming, sunbathing, eating, and not have a care in the world.

My perfect day would be spending time with my family outdoors. We love to swim in our pool in the backyard. Or maybe spend the day at the park with the kids playing games. Visiting the zoo is also fun.

Here is my fantasy day;

I woke up today at 5:00am feeling refreshed. I slept well last night. When I looked over at the clock and saw how early it was, I remembered the date. Quickly, I got out of bed, threw on a pair of pants and t-shirt and hurried outside. It was the fifteenth of July and I was in luck because there was not a cloud in the sky. I looked to the east, and sure enough, there were the three stars of Orion still gleaming in spite of the morning glow. I looked to the west and saw Venus low on the horizon.
I went back inside, started my computer, turned on the TV, and headed for the coffee machine. I realized that my wife had gotten up just after me and had started the coffee. It was just finishing, so I had my first morning cup. I took a sip and frowned, looking at the cup. That's when I remembered that I had forgotten to cut the coffee that I had ground last night with decaf. Oh well, I thought. I'll just have to savor the taste of pure Maui coffee today.
I went to the computer, and started checking in on the different web pages that I follow while keeping one eye on the TV. I noticed that something was happening, so I hit the mute button to get the sound.
To my surprise, it was Secretary Clinton announcing that Russia, the US, and Iran had resolved their differences over the missile defense program and the Iranian nuclear program. The Iranians had agreed to international inspections of all their nuclear facilities, and had agreed to free the price of a barrel of oil for ten years at $60 a barrel. The stock market was going crazy.
I started checking my web pages. There were no hurricanes in the Atlantic or in the Pacific. My book had been downloaded for the ten thousandth time and I had an email from Baen asking me to contact them about publishing the book in hardback. I had four "best answers" on my Mahalo page, and I was very close to my poke-a-dot belt. That was good news, but not the best news, because there was a new question asking, "Have you heard the news about the discovered Heinlein book, yet?"
Now that stunned, me so I clicked on the link immediately. And there it was.
The Spider had been rummaging around in some of Heinlein's old boxes, and he had found a fully typed manuscript that had never been published. The manuscript was dated 1959, and Robinson was hurrying it into print.
As I was reading, the phone rang. It was James, informing me that an hour ago Michelle had delivered a baby boy, and they were giving it my middle name. Michelle must have really been out of it to agree to that, I thought.
Just after he hung up, Dean called to see if I had heard the news. As we talked, he mentioned that he had gotten a raise, and that he and Whitney had set a date at last.
I hung up just as my wife brought in a plate with a pancake covered with boysenberry syrup and a piece of bacon to celebrate the news. Mmmm...! That was good.
It was a good harvest that day. I picked some peaches and tangerines from the trees. I cut several zucchini that had been missed by the fruit flies, and a head of broccoli. The fields of lettuce were well along, and so were the green beans. About four o'clock a gentle rain began and lasted until five, cooling off the day.
Before the rain, I walked down to the mailbox and got the mail. The new book by Jane Ann Krentz, and the new Negima manga was in the mail. Plus, there was a note from the mortgage company informing me that they had receive our last payment and the debt on the farm was now free and clear.
We had fresh opakapaka and rice for dinner, and then we watched the new Firefly pilot on TV.
Later when the house was quiet, I read for a couple of hours, and then I finished my new book. Editing would start tomorrow. I weighed myself before I went to bed, and I realized that I was finally down to the weight I was when I got married.
I sleep like a log that night, and I woke up refreshed.
Now that was a good day.

My perfect day as told from the mind of an airline employee and travel enthusiast...

My day would start out with me waking up with the sunlight hitting my face and warming me to a full awake state.

I would turn on my computer go to a random travel site and select a random destination. Once the destination has been chosen I would then grab my one prepacked carry on bag, $500 and my digital camera and head to the airport.

At the airport I would walk to my gate show my employee badge, get on the flight and head to my destination. I would of coarse have first class and a lovely young woman next to me.

Once we landed in my destination I would ask her to join me for a drink on a beautiful spot be it a beach or a creek or a resturant facing the lights of downtown. We would drink and talk and laugh all night. I would ask her to join me while I hit the sites the culture and the town for a full day of fun and relaxation. By the end of the night I would give her a kiss goodnight go our seperate ways.

There was a time in my life when I was lost, really, really lost. Not lost in the sense that I didn’t know where I was going but lost in the sense that my life was not what I wanted it to be. Not only was it not what I wanted it to be, it was not even headed in the right direction. This was before my younger children were born, before I started writing, before I honored myself enough to at least try to do some of the things I wanted to do with my life. It all started when I was a single mom, afraid of everything.

At that time I lived in fear, fear of paying for this, fear of not enough, just fear. I worked hard. I worked very hard. I didn’t have much to show for it.

It took some time and a great deal of self-reflection but now I no longer feel lost. I can also look back at some things that contributed to the lost feelings.

One thing that comes to my mind is actually an excellent exercise for defining your life. But when I first heard about it, it was presented in such a ludicrous manner that I felt compelled to dismiss it because I had such negative associations with it. Now I can see how it can be a really wonderful tool for creating the life you want.

A real estate sales trainer that I used to listen to recommended that we do an exercise called “The Perfect Day”. The point is to write down what your perfect day looks like and try to follow it everyday. This exercise has an incredible potential to really be of value but when it was presented the real estate sales trainer was just using it as a way to bully us into buying more of his stuff and using his systems.

He gave us all an example of “The Perfect Day”. Of course, it was geared towards a successful real estate agent who used his ideas and his systems for success. His ideas and strategies were cold-calling and knocking on doors. I’m not sure what his strategy is now since the “do not call” list is in effect but at that time in the early 90’s that was his strategy.

Friends and I going out to either sail or get a view of the ocean. Grabbing some cold beverages, smoothies, sodas, beers etc. Bringing along bathing suits, a deck of cards and enough food to last the whole day.
Enjoying good laughs, food and conversations, thats a perfect day!
