Dancing CPDRC prisoners in the Philippines: inspirational or exploitive?

I've been watching the CPDRC inmates of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center, Cebu, Philippines dancing for a couple of years now.... I can't reconcile if this is the coolest way to rehabilitate offenders or some how exploitive.

I'm sure if I was in prison I'd love to do something fun to pass the time... I'm wondering if these guys are going to get their own VH1 reality series any time soon.

It's hard imaging the inmates, who would spend their days bored and probably getting into more trouble, feeling exploited! According to the inmates, when asked during interviews, they very much enjoy the dancing!! It makes time pass more quickly, and they have set a world record for largest number of inmates dancing, which allows them some level of celebrity!

ABC news did a story on this.................

It depends on how they are treated and whether they enjoy it or not.
I mean it seems like they are having a blast but if some of them were actually being forced to do it then I'd have issues with it.
From the news stories I found it seems to have had a positive effect on the inmates. If that's the case then I'm all for it.

I would have to go with insperational. The dancers seem to be enjoying themselves and from experience (ex-prison gaurd) inmates will find something to do to pass the time while they are incarcerated. Giving them something possitive to do is far better than the alternative of alowing them engage in unproductive or even criminal activities. Also, while I am not the greatest searcher on the net, I have not been able to locate any instances of complaints by the prisoner over poor treatment while in this program. Thats not to say that there are none but from what I can find the inmates really do enjoy the program.
