My goodness, absolutely. Wearing a pin on her sweater could only offend intolerant morons. Honestly, being gay is no more taboo than having blonde hair. Nobody should care. I would probably disapprove if she took advantage of the event to make it a gay pride celebration, because that's not what it is, but she doesn't seem to want to do anything other than represent herself.

There should never be a law against that.

Displaying your gay pride at a St. Patrick's Day parade is no worse than displaying your Irish pride at a gay-pride parade.
