Best thing since...the creation of the Internet.
I like jeffhoard's idea...but the Internet is the real source of everything. Imagine life without Mahalo, Google, Wikipedia, YouTube etc. I know some people can live without the internet - but then some people can live without sliced bread!

I think the Internet has changed so much the last five years because of the embedded video, I think the average TV entertainment consumer finally saw the internet as something they could appreciate and enjoy.
I think it helps modernize the expression?

Best thing since ____? Can you think of something better than "sliced bread" to replace the saying?
Perhaps because I have always bought my bread sliced and have never had to do it myself, I don't understand why people say "best thing since sliced bread." But surely, with all the inventions, there has to be something that makes a better replacement.
According to Reader's Digest, this saying comes from Wonder Bread. In 1933, Wonder introduced the very first pre-sliced loaf of bread to America's consumers. Sales were slow at first as consumers were slow to accept it, but convenience won them over and and soon everyone wanted sliced Wonder Bread on their dinner table. This popularity is reflected in that phrase 'the best thing since sliced bread.'
Surely, almost 80 years later we can think of something better to replace this saying. Any ideas?
