Well it is official . I took the nerd quiz and was rated more nerdy than most people. So I am a nerd. I show great interest in intellectual abilities rather than popular or faddish interest. I also tend to be a loner and sports is not on the top of my list.

No one knows the origin of the word but the first documented use came in 1950
from Dr zeuss book "if I ran a zoo". In that book the word was used to describe someone who is conservative but now it means something entirely different.
