hi, just my opinion.
I heard about this a few weeks ago from my son in law. He is studying to be an engineer, and he keeps up on these things. When he first told me (although I believe most everything he says!), I said "you are kidding!"

The norm?
No, not right now.
A new trend later?
Yes possibly.
To allow the entire building to get light and views, sure, it's a great idea.
But the engineering, costs and technical details make it unlikely to become commonplace for a while.

I also have a second cousin who is an architect and he is totally fascinated with this concept.
Who knows, maybe we will se a LOT of them!

Are rotating skyscrapers going to be something of the norm in the near future. They are building one in the UAE.

It seems unlikely - the link below mentions the extra expense, and the major benefit is ostentation, although there is some novelty and tourist value.
