My dream is to retire in Ireland. I still have family & friends there and have been visiting several times. I love everything about Ireland; the culture, the scenery, the people, the food, the language...it's heaven on earth. A plus is no one there tells me I'm too pale!

Anyone thinking of moving from the US to a foreign country? Which one? Why?
I accidentally ran across this question: "If you were to move to a poor primitive country what three things would you miss from your current life?" Which triggered my question. After all financier Jim Rogers sold his home in New York City and moved to Singapore, and his two daughters are learning Mandarin. And graduate student Dick Noone decided to move in with the Semai aboriginal tribe, rather than complete his Ph.d thesis in anthropology

Ireland had a stable economy. People work hard, the culture is amazing, and taxes are low.
