I've lost people I have cared about and I have had friends that have lost people, but never anything like this. . .

Wow. That is absolutely devastating. What a sad world we live in. I'd say the best thing you can do is let your friend know that you are there for them if they need to talk or need a shoulder to lean on. Just making yourself available for emotional support through tough times does a world of difference.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend's loss, and kudos to you for caring :)

@cheapgamer - that story just sticks out like a sore thumb in our national community. I just learned that her fiancee got the formal confirmation about her death on the day they were to be married.
That just made my heart ache.

I can't really say anymore than what @cuppycake has already expressed.

The love of my life was shot and killed Aug 22nd 09 we were together for ever!!! I know exactly what it feels like and I am numb. Love is such a hard thing to find and to be able to hold on to it. Then you have all these what if's... and let me tell you those hurt so much to think about... and after what if ing about my love, I have finally come to accept that he has passed and we will be together in Heaven one day together... until that day I just try and live up to my most potential as a Graphic Designer... I do it for him, he gave me strength that I never knew existed. I will never be the same person, but I will be a stronger person and "if" (Not that I am in any situation to be getting involved with another person.. He was my true love...) I get involved with someone else.. I will love them the best I know how and just live it up for the moment because its real when its your life. And I want to take advantage of every moment. I know I didn't know her... but I feel like I do. God bless all the family and friends. *Jennifer Joost
