Thutmose III was the Pharaoh of Egypt from 1479–1426 BC, in the 18th Dynasty, he was known for his conquests, and under his reign his empire expanded to the largest that it had ever been. Altogether he had 17 campaigns, he conquered many city states in what is today Syria at around 1450 B.C. but later would also lose what he conquered, he also tried to conquer Nubia late during his reign but failed. He also built a lot of monumental temples, as well as the tombs for the nobles. He especially focused his attention on building the karnak, which was an upright obelisk temple, during his reign many karnaks were built, the most famous being Iput-isut, which stood in the city center of his capital. His tomb would also become famous in 1898 as it was discovered in the Valley of Kings, and his Mummy was discovered in 1881.
