He was a muslim leader during the Chrisitianization of Ethiopia in the 1500's.
He got close to stopping Ethiopia becoming a Christian area, and surrounded Portuguese and Ethiopian Troops (who were fighting for Christianity) In Lake Tana, a big rebel city that supported Ahmed. But the Portuguese, even though outnumbered managed to shoot and kill Ahmed Gragn and upon his death, his forces fled and Ethiopia became Fully Christian.
