The country's official religion is the cult of Kim Il Sung. It also consist of Buddhism and Confucianism, some Christianity and syncretic Chondogyo. Autonomous religious activities are almost nonexistent. Government-sponsored religious groups exist to provide the illusion of religious freedom.
