So I came across Obama's response to the violence in Iran and personally think it was a great use of diplomacy to avoid U.S. commitment to..

the nation of Iran. He also showed support for the innocent protesters saying they were individuals who deserve the freedom to express themselves as they please. I think that most people familiar with the area and culture will agree with me that the younger Iranian generations have waited so long for a chance to revolt against their government and may have carried on with this protest with the hopes that president Obama (who received exceptional support from young Iranians during the campaign, and who is in fact one of the first presidents, if not the only one, to extend hands to the Iranian government in sign of peace), will support their efforts by doing more than give a speech on why Iran should stop the violence.

Maybe I'm analyzing this all wrong, but What do you all think should be done by the American government?

Why are the Americans always expected to step in and fix other people's problems? Whenever they do, they get hell for it?!

I think the concern is that President Obama had already made many comments in support of Iran's political system. To keep quiet after people were shot in the streets would have appeared to be tacit approval.
