Tips: The best travel agency I know of for small ship cruises, particularly to Antartica is Expediontrips. See if April is still there and deal with her. 1-877-412-8527. Ask if they still recommend booking on an Australian cruise company. They've been at this much longer than American ships have. Your fellow passengers will be from Down Under, Europe, and Canada - much more interesting mates to mingle with. go to a travel specialist medical doctor. Get your shots for whatever countries you stop over in (Chile, Argentina, etc.). Get evoung prescription anti-nausea drug patches to put on your arm. The seas are rough. Bring a camera in a water proof case as well as lots of plastic bags for everything in our backpack. Your Antartica-grade Parka with fake fur collar must be a red or orange parka. If you wander a few yards away from your group this is how they will be able to see you - the color of your parka.

I was all set to go several years ago. I had made my down payment and had all my clothes and gear, shots, etc. Then someon slammed into our car from the rear. I ended up in physical therapy for a year. Never got to take my ocean kayaking lessons (for kayaking during my Antartctic cruise). Never went to Antartica. I returned most of my special clothes and gear. Tips: The best travel agency I know of for small ship cruises, particularly to Antartica is Expediontrips.
