Does anyone know of studies involving aboriginal infants being adopted into advanced circumstances?

If an infant (or infants) from a seldom contacted tribe, say in the Amazon rain forest, had been adopted at birth and raised by parents in an advanced country, wouldn't there be an oportunity for us to learn about the old "nature vs nuture" conflict? Is anyone aware if circumstances similar to this have been documented?

Hi Keepontryin,

While I don't know of any specific studies related to adopted aboriginal infants, you could try contacting the Aboriginal Infant Development Programs of B.C., based in Victoria on 250-388-5593. Also, check out their website: www.aidp.bc.ca.

The Programs support families parenting children of aboriginal descent under age 3.

Hope you find what you're looking for!

Actually the studies to determine nature vs nurture is usually done on twins who are separated from birth. The researchers find datas about their intelligence and personality and compare their living conditions. i read these on my textbooks a while back when I studied about intelligence at university.

Sorry I don't have time to research for it now, but I hope this will be helpful to point out to nature vs nurture researches.
