Ah, panic attacks at the dentist - not my problem but I do know many who do get them, my friend included.
She brings an ipod so she can listen to music and shut her eyes and not think about what's happening.
The other thing she does is to think of everything she needs to do the next day or after the appointment - anything to keep her mind active and not get scared :)
And she takes a book so the nerves don't get to her before the appointment.
Lots of way to decrease the stress :) Be calm, think nice thoughts and take even long lasting breaths...relax, they are professionals!

Yep, going to get old fillings replaced tomorrow. So I can vouch for that one. Years ago my mother (who is generally less of a wuss than me about these things) got a panic attack at the dentists.
