Freemasons were taught that the Order had been established among the workmen who built Solomon's Temple. The reconstruction of the Solomonic Temple in Freemasonic thought represented both the intention to imitate the rules of divine architecture and to apply the natural laws of proportion as part of the search for an individual and common purification.
Fundamentally, Freemasonry has no other aim than the knowledge of man and of nature; being founded on the Temple of Solomon which…has existed for itself in the universe solely to be the universal type of man in general in his past, present, and future states, and figurative emblematic picture of his own history.
The Holy of Holies was a sacred chamber in Solomon's Temple, which housed the Ark of the Covenant, therefore it would have been the Ark of the Covenant that Thutmose III looked into and received the divine revelation. Also it is my understanding if I remember correctly, that Thutmose III captured Jerusalem and after that when he went into battles he carried the Ark of the Covenant into those battles and was victorious. As I recall he was if not the most successful at least one of the most successful Pharaoh’s when it came to winning battles and wars.
If my reading of history is correct, then yes not only did Thutmose III claim divine revelation but it was also claimed of him and if correct he made use of it to become one of the most powerful Pharaohs.

davepamn, it is hard to put a source as it is s comglomerate of varuious articles and documents (some private) that I threw this together from. Thats why I say "If my reading of ..." perhaps I should have added if my memory of my readings ... my memory ussually is!

If you are interested I will look through my notes and documents and where available point out some of them that you may find interesting. Let me know.

Thutmose III was an enemy to Mose. I need a source before accepting the assumption that Thutmose III looked upon the Ark and received divine commission.

From the Book, "Ancient Egyptians" by Oxford Press, the author states that Thutmose III entered the temple of Amun Re and looked upon the Holy of Holies. Thutmoses III prior had chewed on natron a salt substance to purify himself. The Amun-Re shrine had wooden door which he opened, performed a special ritual reserved for kings, closed the doors and seal them with clay, and swept the floor to remove traces he had been there.

The Ark and the Covenant have nothing to do with Amun Re, Holy of Holies.

Thank you for the correction, you have sparked an interest in me now to revisit that era of history and the research and articles I have gathering dust. I have confused this after all, and will seek to readdress this shortly
