Yes!
Based on my experience I will recommend:
1. Go to the police right away.
2. Inform your close friends and family members about the situation. Even your boss.
3. If you are close with your neighbors, let them know.
4. Be careful at all times. For example, do not wait for the bus alone. Check all the windows and doors before you go to sleep.
